Beau McMillan, former draft pick turned national championship winning coach. The Florida native played his collegiate ball at Division II Lynn University, where he ranked in top-five of nine offensive categories including, total bases, runs scored, stolen bases, hits and games started.
McMillan was a standout player for LU as a middle infielder from 2000-04 while earning his bachelor’s degree in business administration. He would later be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame for the Fighting Nights in 2019 for many of his achievements as a player and as a coach for LU. Beau was first in program history to become the two-time first team all-SSC selection and two-time first team all-South region honoree; recognizing him as the first position player in program history to earn all-SSC first team.
His time in a Fighting Knights uniform would culminate by seeing him selected by the Florida Marlins in the Major League Baseball draft as he continued his career into the professional ranks. Beau played in the minor leagues, making it as far as Triple-A before retiring from baseball. Post-baseball career he made the return to his alma mater taking a coaching position. By 2009, his team had climbed the mountaintop, capturing the D-II national championship.
