In 2007 Spencer worked as an Area Coordinator with the Detroit Tigers.
Since 2007 he has been a college recruiting coordinator with stops at Purdue, Washington State, Creighton, Illinois and Northwestern.
Spencer has a passion for building relationships with coaches, players and families, and this is clear to anyone who interacts with him. During the fall of 2006 he was provided the opportunity to attend MLB Scout School. This was a great foundation for learning how to evaluate players for the next level. Development is another passion of Spencer’s, and his knowledge in this area has gained the attention of the baseball community. He has been a presenter at a number of well-known coaching clinics around the country.
From 2016-2019 Spencer worked in a variety of roles with USA Baseball. Managing in the Tournament of Stars and assisting with the National Team Development Program from 2017-2019. This provided Allen a great opportunity to interact with some of the best young players and the top coaches in college and professional baseball.
Spencer is married to Jessica (Draemel) who played softball at Stanford University (1999-2002). Jess and Spence have two kids, Jada and Cole. The Allen’s reside in Phoenix, AZ. Personally Spencer really enjoys being active, working out, golfing, fishing and BBQ in the backyard with family and friends!
